Book Readers’ Mem

I just found this mem and thought it could be interesting:

The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they’ve printed. Well, let’s see. (Turns out I’ve read 27. Not shabby for a 19-year-old.)

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.

2) Italicize those you intend to read.

3) Underline the books you LOVE.

Sweeney Todd in Concert

I found this video while hunting around on YouTube. It’s fantastic! The 2001 Sweeney Todd in concert is one of the best renditions I’ve seen. The music is fantastic, Patti LuPone is hilarious, Neil Patrick Harris is awesome, and Timothy Nolen is suitably creepy. I’ve gone ahead and posted the series. All you need is a good set of speakers. Enjoy!

ETA: I’ve consolidated the videos. Just click the link here.

I’ve officially graduated!

So graduation is now over. An interesting one it was, at that. We all looked like rotund grapes walking down the center of the gym in the incredibly stifling heat. The ceremony went well, though. I was wearing my honor cords and my rank medallion, which weighs a ton! The problem began when it was all over and getting ready to leave. The tornado sirens went off and we were dragged in to wait in classroomd near the center of the school. There were 70 mph winds and some cloud rotation over the school, but no tornado in the end. We left half an hour later. All the festival tents for the summer festival season (Germanfest, Canal Days, etc.) throughout Fort Wayne and New Haven were generally torn down, but there didn’t seem to be much damage. What a way to remember the class of ‘08!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Just wanted to add that.

Relaxing with Cherries, Music, and the Race

I’m just hanging out right now, enjoying my last weekend before graduation. I’m practically the only one here right now. I’m having a good time just curled up in this chair in my black sweats and Rome shirt. Carry on My Wayward Son has just finished on my Calcmix and it’s moving on to Here I Go Again. I’ve got a big bowl of cherries and I can apparently tie the stems in a knot like they do on tv. The Nascar race is on, too, but I’m not interested. I’m just waiting to change the tape in the vcr for my mom. She and my sister are at the campground in Michigan, my Dad’s working at the hotel, and my brother’s probably killing prostitutes on his Xbox downstairs. That’s pretty much it. One last day of highschool!
