Lotus Wood – 1

I started my HAED pattern yesterday. I’m really excited about the whole thing. It’ll take me forever, but I think I’ll finish it. We’ll see how much I get done this summer with college looming in a month. Here’s my first day’s work. 28ct 2×1

Not much to see yet. . . just alot of green.

Did You Know I Could Tango?

Neither did I!!!!!

I made this on JibJab and it is just too funny. At least for me. I put a friend in with me and our expressions are something else. . . .

Since WordPress won’t let me post this I’ve put it here on my generally disused LiveJournal.

Feel free to comment on my excellent form and ask about my cucaracha while you’re at it! ;)

Gatekeeper 1

Here’s the progress photo for my Gatekeeper project at 29.2% completion. I’ve just gotten to this point about 5 minutes ago, so it’s all nice and rectangular for the moment.

Cross Stitch

I’ve decided to post my progress on any projects I may be working on in my sidebar, as it seems to be a popular thing to do in the stitching circles. I’m currently working on and off on Gatekeeper. I believe I started it a little over a year ago even though it’s just 14-count aida. I tend to leave it alone for a few months and then “binge stitch” constantly for a few weeks, so don’t be surprised if my status bar doesn’t move very quickly. I’ll post a pic of my progress tomorrow.

I’d like to try at least one of the HAED patterns, as they’re just gorgeous. I can’t decide which one to pick! My biggest issue is boredom, so I’m curious about creating a rotation to keep me interested. We’ll see how many years it takes me to finish!

In Annulo by Ladyofthemasque

It’s just past midnight and I’m trying to find something to do. I can’t stand David Letterman or his inane comments meant to pass as comedy. I much prefer Craig Ferguson. Anyway, I realized I haven’t read In Annulo for a while. This is the only story I’ve ever been compelled to read over and over. It’s also easily the best HGSS fic I’ve ever read. It’s nice and long, since I abhor the little short ‘ficlets’ and one-shots. The plot is fantastic, not jumping into anything too quickly. Then there is the whole mysterious aspect regarding the strange Russell and his mysterious ring. Love, love, love it!

Here is the link to read it at ThePetulant Poetess. Sorry kids, it’s NC-17, and a fabulously well written one, at that.

Get Smart

I went to see Get Smart at the movies yesterday and was thrilled with the movie. Before going, I’d scoured YouTube for a few episodes of the old show to watch first, since I’ve never seen it. The movie followed the original very well translated into modern times. The only thing that didn’t agree with me is the paradoxical existance of the original Maxwell Smart things as a museum exhibit in the front room of Control when Smart, Agent 99 and the others are supposedly living in the ‘present.’ Otherwise, Steve Carell was hilarious and Anne Hathaway was very good. It was Mel Brooks had a hand throughout the whole production.
