I’ll have to dust off the cobwebs around here or something. Well, last time I wrote was at the beginning of my first semester of college and I’ve now been out of it for two weeks. It definitely had its ups and downs but I prefer it over high school. I also made more friends much more quickly than I previously had before and they’re just great.
I guess the real reason I’m writing now is because it’s 4:25 am. While that’s not a reason to be writing in and of itself, if you knew how my last two weeks of winter vacation had gone you wouldn’t be surprised. Lately I’ve totally rearranged my sleeping patterns to be awake at night. I’m not sure why, I just prefer night when everyone else is sleeping. I’ve also been feeling very depressed and could not find anything to do. So, I’d just end up falling asleep again to kill time. When I’m awake I just tend to feel completely drained and empty, punctuated by almost frantic bouts of looking for something new and interesting around the house or on the internet.
My Christmas was horrible as well. They’ve been going down hill since I was five since my father’s a very grouchy anti-holiday person. But this year topped it. Everyone knew not to expect much of anything because our parents were saving up their money, but my dad felt everyone needed a present anyway. My sister received a very nice Wacom tablet and my brother received this welding set thing. He then preceded to give me a $20 Walmart giftcard. I’m not sure if he was running out of gift ideas for his “w” theme or if it’s just another example of how much he dislikes me. He’s also seen fit to argue with me over nonsensical things all break which gives me another reason to avoid human contact during the day. If it’s not his arguing with me, it’s my mother complaining about him and his spending patterns. Then my siblings usually see fit to fray my already damaged nerves.
I’ve also just felt so crummy. I should get out and do something but other than going out shopping with my new’ish’ girl friends AD and NF, I just cant convince myself I want to do anything. I’ve been desperately searching for some HGSS fic to read but I just can’t find any well-written new ones. There are some WIPs, but I prefer to wait until they’re at least mostly finished. They all seem so mushy anymore, too. I prefer the super canon, insanely intense angst, avoiding each other at all costs, then all hell breaks lose leaving you saying “Holy crap!” once that pivotal scene is reached. Yeah. We need more of them. Too bad I’m too left brained for a good writer’s imagination. I have imagination, I can think of an awesome story, I’m just no good at digging below the surface and making it just that, a story. I’m terrible with the little details that make a story interesting, especially small-talk dialogue.
Well the only thing I’m really looking forward too for like the next three years as of now seems to be Sweeney Todd coming to Ft. Wayne. I absolutely love Sweeney Todd, adore the Sweeney Todd Concert w/ Hearn and LuPone, accept the movie due to Depp’s great acting and Rickman’s mere existence, and am very curious to see the actual play. I just hope I’m not disappointed like I was during the movie to hear Carter’s Mrs Lovett. That will most likely make or break it for me. The characterization was all wrong and the definition of Mrs. Lovett, to me, is Patti Lupone’s version.
If you’ve even managed to read all this drivel, congratulations. You deserve a big, shiny medal of some sort. Unfortunately, I don’t have any in stock at the moment, so you’ll have to make due with an imaginary one. The last thing I’m sure anyone wants to read is more self deprecating musings on my self deprecating thoughts. But that’s how it is, I guess, and I do feel infinitesimally better for my mini rant because it would surely be welcome no where else. So ends my longest post in history. Happy freaking New Year.

Happy New Year back. I remember reading a really nice…angsty Gawd-I-love-you-I-hate-you HGSS fic some time back, but unfortunately I never saved the link. But I never really got into the HGSS fandom, I’m more of a HGDM girl. To each her own I guess.
Peace.

Thank you. Wow, someone actually does read this stuff. You’ve made my week.
I may try some HGDM to mix it up a little. Hope you have a great New Year.

Aww thanks. And if you ever want to read any Rurouni Kenshin fics, let me know. I write them well.. (modesty is not a big quality with me)

Btw, your pictures are gorgeous…although I have no idea what they are…

Oh, thanks! They’re not mine, though. I wish! They are cross stitch patterns I’m working on from heavenandearthdesigns.com. It’s just happens to be coincidence that I updated them just before reading your comment, getting rid of one and adding another. Ha! I just noticed that these two are similar in their body position. lol

They are similar now that you mention it!
They’re really pretty. And you cross stich these these? But how do you know how many squares to go and stuff…I mean do they have the colour squares numbered on the design?
I’m a LOTR freak. Anything related to Middle Earth gets my vote….sometimes it scares my friends.
Somehow, I like the HAED design better. Reminds of me LOTR.

lol Yes, they have a grid pattern that I follow with symbols representing each color. And I really like LOTR as well.

Alright…pop quiz!
legolas or aragorn?
P.S. If my boss catches me goofing off during work hours,…:)

lol That’s a tough one! I love Aragorn. But I want Legolas’s hair!

I know! Gawd i’m so jealous of his hair..and the fact that he can be mired in a seaful of orcs and come out looking as fresh and dewy as before. There’s not a scratch nor a speck of blood on him…and the hair is of course perfect! ….. My hair resembles chomped noodles after a brisk walk around the block. *sigh* its not fair.

hahaha! Yeah, I guess we can’t ALL be elves. No matter how much I want to be.
lol

It’s a tragic tragic situation *sigh sob sob*
…only one thing to do now..go read an LOTR fanfic. Are you fond of slash btw? Or do you find it off-putting?
warren61889 Said:

I may just have to do that!
I don’t mind slash necessarily, I just don’t find myself drawn to read it very often. Then again with LOTR, I guess there’s not too much room for anything else, is there? lol
krystalmage Said:

Lol, you’re so right! I became fond of slash after reading a couple of really nice Aragorn/ Legolas fanfics, then I moved on to Harry and Draco…and the list goes on and on and on…

Well, I guess there’s not much left to do except try it out and see where it takes me then, eh?

Oh, and if you ever feel a need to dabble in anymore HGSS, you must look up In Annulo by ladyofthemasque. It is my absolute FAVORITE fic I’ve ever read and sometimes it feels like I’ve read them all.
lol This is definitely MY book 7 as I believe it should have been.
And Snape wears a kilt, but that’s just hilarious.

Get OUT! A Kilt?!!! *falls off her chair* I’m trying to reconcile Snape with a kilt….ROFL.

Yup. But it’s written so well that it progresses in such a way that it doesn’t seem terribly OC. I even managed to find a drawing of him.
